AUBREY UPDATE
After yet another doctors visit and more blood drawn for test the cause of her being so small is still unknown. So far she is seeing her regular pediatrician and a GI specialist who has also now referring her to Endocrinologist. She has had test for a number of different things and some I'm not even sure what they are. Most of the test that were done were to see if she can absorb certain types of food like fat, iron, and protein, to see if her organs are all functioning properly, and also test for certain diseases like cystic fibrosis and celiacs. So far all have these have come back showing that there is no problem which is a good sign but still does not explain why she not gaining any weight. Currently the only test were are waiting for are the celiac disease test, immunoglobulins, and a thyroid test. She now weighs 11 lbs 3.7 oz which is 2 oz less than what she weighed a month ago. Despite being small she is a on the go little girl and has to always be in the middle of whatever is going on.

how old is she now? sometimes kids are just small. my sister had full term children and her last was small only weighing 14 pounds like ainsley at 1 year old. and now she is 4 and is the biggest 4 year old out of all her 4 kids. so hopefully the test will just say she is small. you can also put more calories in her food. you can order benecalorie which is awesome extra calories. it has no flavor and you add to all there food. you can order it at www.novartisnutrition.com.

Right now she is 10 months old. So far everything is pointing to the fact that she is just small and that is what I have thought from the beginning but I don't want to take any chances. Thanks for that idea on benecalorie. I will have to look into that. Her pediatrician gave me some formula that has extra calories to mix with her cereal.

Hmmm... I hope that she is just small. I bet that it is probably the case. Hopefully the results of the other tests will be good and she will start to gain well! The uncertainty must be difficult.

Anna is only 18 lbs at 18 mo. and was about 13 or 14 at 10 mo. About the size of yours. I guess i should check into it? My guess...Aubrey is probably just small, just like your second girl.Good luck. I had the Dr office visits.

My youngest, Carter, was the same way. He was just tiny as a baby. He weighed 13 lbs at his 1 year dr's appt. Now at 3 he is up to wopping 23 lbs which seems huge to me. It seems like most of my kids would go through a non-growth spurt around 9-12 months, as far as weight went. I hope things end up fine. If you did happen to find out that she has celiacs, e-mail me because I've been gluten free for 8 months and can give you some good resources. Good luck!
